  • Grand Valley Road Closures - March 16, 2025

    Due to flooding, Ontario Provincial Police - Central Region have issued several key road closures.

    Current Road Closures:

    • County Road 25 – Closed between Highway 89 and County Road 109 due to flooding. LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY
    • Water St. (GVY) – Closed from Rainy St. to Melody St.
    • Emma St. (GVY) – Closed from Water St. to Main St.
    • William St. (GVY) – Closed from Water St. to Emma St.
    • Ponsford Street at King Street to Amaranth Street East

    Additional road closures may become necessary as water levels continue to rise. 

    Important Reminders:
    Respect the half-load season on secondary roads. Plan your route accordingly and avoid the closed areas for safety. Please stay vigilant, avoid the affected areas, and stay tuned for further updates. Your safety is our priority!

    Due to flooding, Ontario Provincial Police - Central Region have issued several key road closures.

    Current Road Closures:

    Emma St. South (GVY) – Closed from Water St. to Mill St.
    William St. (GVY) – Closed from Water St. to Emma St.
    Ponsford Street at  Amaranth Street East to Mill Street
    Mill Street East from King Street to Ponsford Street 
    Concession 12-13 - between County Rd. 24 & 27-28

  • FLOOD WARNING ISSUED - Grand Valley and Waldemar

    The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) has issued a Flood Warning message for the Town of Grand Valley and the hamlet of Waldemar. Snow melt and rainfall will combine to create more runoff than the river channel can contain throughout the weekend.   • Notice of Intention to Pass a By-Law to Adopt the 2025 Budget

    TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Grand Valley intends to pass a by-law to adopt the 2025 budget.

    The meeting at which the by-law will be presented will take place at:

    Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. 

    Town of Grand Valley Town Hall – Council Chambers

    5 Main Street North Grand Valley, ON L9W 5S6

    The budget is being adopted in accordance with section 290 of the Municipal Act, 2001 and notice is being provided in accordance with By-Law No. 2007-56.  If the matter is postponed or considered at a subsequent council meeting, no additional notice will be provided other than the information on the subsequent council agenda.

  • Reduced Load Restrictions (5 Tonnes per Axle)

    Reduced Load Restrictions are in effect as of Monday, March 10, 2025

    The reduced load restriction period typically occurs between March 1 and May 15th dependent on weather and road conditions.  

    Further notice will be provided once restrictions are lifted.
