Notice of the Adoption of an Official Plan Amendment

TAKE NOTICE that on the 8th day of October, 2024, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Grand Valley passed By-law No, 2024-42, pursuant to Section 17 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended.  By-law 2024-42 is a by-law to adopt Official Plan Amendment No. 7 which proposes to make changes to the Town of Grand Valley Official Plan.

Official Plan Amendment No. 7 will affect the lands municipally known as 40, 50 and 60 Emma Street South (Roll Numbers 352000, 352100 and 352200), as shown on the attached Location Map.

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the AMENDMENT

a)     To redesignate the subject lands from a Downtown Commercial designation to an Urban Residential designation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION regarding Official Plan Amendment No. 7 and its proposed changes to the Grand Valley Official Plan is available to the public for inspection at the Town Municipal Office located at 5 Main Street North, GRAND VALLEY, ON  L9W 5S6, Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM and on the Town’s website;  https://www.townofgrandvalley.ca/business-development/building-planning-and-development/current-and-approved-applications/ 

BE ADVISED that the Town of Grand Valley will be forwarding Official Plan Amendment No. 7 to the County of Dufferin (as the approval authority) for its review, and if deemed appropriate, to approve Official Plan Amendment No. 7.  Any person or public body will be entitled to receive notice of the decision of the approval authority if a written request to be notified of its decision (including the person’s or public body’s address) is made to the approval authority at:
