Freedom of Information

The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) governs the access to information from public institutions that is available to the public. The two main purposes of MFIPPA are:

  • To provide the right of access to information held by institutions covered by the Act; subject to limited and specific exemptions
  • To protect the privacy of individuals with respect to their personal information held by government institutions

Request for Information

Most of the time, a formal request for information under the Act is not required to access information from the Town of Grand Valley. Many records are available online or by contacting the department responsible for the records.

If you would like to access any records held by the Town of Grand Valley, please contact the Deputy Clerk at 1-519-928-5652 ext. 224.
